As it is, BE. YOURSELF. It doesn't matter of what people think of you but how your love ones are as they are the ones who'll support you through thick or thin. I always love Big Nate. Thanks, Lincoln Peirce!

Love is not finding someone to live with; it’s finding someone you can’t live without- Rafael Ortiz

Dad at 13

In the light of recent event – a 13-year-old boy fathered a child with his 15-year-old girlfriend- it has come to my pondering; what has come to kids today and have parents failed?

No offence but I must say, we need parents who are willing to say to their children, ‘I love you so much that I am willing to say ‘no’ to you’. And this is one case where a big ‘NO’ should have come before the damage occurred. We must teach them what sex is all about but to no avail and I’m sorry to say that parents today come shy to even talk about ‘the flower and the bees’ subject. And where do the children learn it from? other means by which from the mass media and even from their friends.

Kids can’t do what they like and when do parents must come in to guide? do we have such parents who can do that?

Many parents often accede to what children want. Sometimes you have to take a firm stand to say ‘NO!’. Is the British report a clear case of social breakdown? if it can happen there, it can happen ANYWHERE. Here are some guidelines that maybe can be implemented to keep this kind of thing at bay:

  • Be consistent. If you don’t, you will confuse your children.
  • Don’t make promises you can’t keep.
  • Don’t make you children feel smaller than they are.
  • Don’t correct your children in front of others. Talk to them in private.
  • Stop preaching to your children.
  • Don’t be put off when your children ask honest qustions.
  • Treat your children as individuals, not things.
  • Don’t think it is beneath your dignity to apologise to your children when you are wrong.
  • And don’t ever suggest that you are perfect or infallible.

Teach them the ways God and to respect authority. Be consistent, decisive abd respectful of your children as individuals. Hold your children accountable for their actions and help them learn from experience. But when you teach, do that with love and concern. Balance responsibility with forgiveness and love.

I stumbled on this when I was browsing through and thought it would be a good idea to share with you.  If you’re looking for the right one, this is the advance tip for you but if you are currently IN one, this is the best thing yet to come for your relationship.  Whether you’re in a normal relationship or even in a long distance relationship, infidelity can occur in either way but if you stay strong and put your trust in it, you will succeed. So here they are, 5 essential tips to prevent infidelity and to a better communication with your beloved. Hope it helps! 🙂

I love you

I love you

Be each other’s number one confidante
You shouldn’t be sharing private thoughts with others that you’re not sharing with your beloved.

Make time to connect on a regular basis
Daily moments of connection help you build a sense of togetherness and shared purposes. Think SMSing, e-mails, webcams, friendster, facebook or other such accounts. For a more ‘touched’ action, try the original ‘snail mail’. Aren’t like the electronic alternatives, snail mails can be recorded and the best part is, they won’t ‘dissappear’ because some virus just ate all of the documents… except if you have a dog that likes to eat papers of course, hehe~

Don’t let family time squeeze out just-the-two-of-you time
Family yes, they are VERY important. But seriously, do you want to spend ALL your dates with your beloved WITH, your family constantly watching behind you? Err~ I think I want my privacy with mine yes, thank you.

Recognize when you’re temporarily attracted to someone else
It doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with your relationship…or that you have to act on it. My advice au contraire, let your inhibitions out when you’re with your beloved and flirt with’em like you never did before.

Surround yourself with people who believe in you and your relationship
If you’re ever tempted and don’t feel like you can tell your mate, you’ll have someone else to confide in who will steer you straight. And if one of you does stray, you’ll have a strong support network to help you put your relationship back together.

A blogger\'s interpretation of the God of Love when he is in love

The God of Love is in LOVE!?
who is his lover?
she must be a beautiful seed!
to make his fireworks fly
to make Cupid’s arrow shot his heart
to make him feel so high

Let Michelangelo sculpt her!
Let my angels sing with lollipops!
Let babies all gurgle with laughter and surprise!
for I, the God of Love
is in LOVE!

Funny thing love is
to make one care for the other
to make one feels so blessed
to make one even sing in the bathroom again
Funny thing love is…

‘Here in my home
I’ll tell what it is all about
There’s just one hope here in my heart
One love undivided
That’s what it’s all about’..

It’s a snippet from the lyrics of the music video made by Malaysian Artistes For Unity. I must say, this is a pretty nice song by Pete Teo. Low budget+ great song + sporting people = Fabulous music video. What can I say more? Maya Karin, Afdlin Shauki, Awie, Jason Lo, Ning Baizura, Suki, Reshmonu, Reefa, Jaclyn Victor, models, actors, arts students, poets.. and the list goes on.. about 120 of them and yes, they were all in it.

Basically it’s a marvel that under all the chaos of the political scene and recent ‘win-win'(said by Datuk Seri Dr. Rais Yatim) ruling by the ICJ and the destruction of cyclone Nargis in Myanmar and not to mention the earthquakes we are able to stick together as one people, one nation.

Call me mushy or whatever you want but heck, I just LOVE this music video. What we are lacking here now is just.. LOVE. Simple. With LOVE, hearts can be touched, friendships can be made and even trees could grow.

So, spread some LOVE now! Tell the person who sits beside you now or your partner, boyfriends, girlfriends, you parents or even the first person who’s going to come into the room. Tell them that you love’em, no matter what happen you are going to get through it together and be each other’s pillar or shoulder to cry on. If your partner’s out of town or studying abroad, go and pick up the phone or sms them that you’ll always love them!

Because LOVE, it just UNITEs people 🙂

-peace-

PS- You can download the music video and also the song, here! 😀

Touch \'N\' Go and Reload section, Skudai Tol PlazaThis morning I went to help dad in distributing today’s newpapers of Berita Harian at Skudai Tol Plaza in conjunction to the start of school holidays. Boy the traffic was awesome because we managed to distribute 2000 copies of the papers in nearly 2hrs as we start at around 8am and finished at precisely 9.51am.

After that, I went to help around the Spell-It-Right(Junior) challenge event organized by RHB bank and NST at Industrial Technology Institute here in Johor. Being as it is ‘junior’ and it is a spellig contest, you get the drill it was for primary student. Words from as simple ‘coal’ to, as I can say quite tough for a primary student, the word ‘regrigerator’, in the final round. Amanda Ooi won the 1st prize and the 2nd prize goes to the participant from Tebrau Primary School.

A contestant from Mutiara Rini Primary School takes home the 3rd prize. There’s a Malay Spell-It-Right Junior Challengesaying, ‘Sambil menyelam minum air’(to drink water while diving) meaning doing something that you like and getting something that benefits you back. So I met some new people there from the event management crew, Saphire Event Management, Bid, who was incharge with the cameras and the NST Corporate Comm. Manager, Nazril. I like going to such events as I get to meet all sorts of people.

Talking about people, of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion, true? some like cherry on top of their strawberry ice cream, some like wearing torned jeans and some just dispises their country. (more…)
